We recognize that it is important for the field of design to evolve in alignment with the needs of society and technological advancements. Therefore, we continually strive to develop and integrate the study of emerging tools and practices into our graduate curricula. Several of our courses explore user-experience, user-interface, augmented reality, virtual reality, extended reality, embodied interfaces, and conversational design as a means of developing forward-thinking design concepts.
Courses required in the first year of the MDes program, except for Thesis Prep, comprise the curriculum. The MPS offers students a practical and attainable means of developing a strong, forward-thinking design practice. As you examine spaces meant for daily activities, venues for arts performances and many others, you’ll learn what it takes to create environments that support efficiency and high-quality experiences. Every year, the School of Design aims to enroll 40 students in the School of Design Undergraduate programs, which include a Bachelor of Design, a Minor in Design, and a specialized BXA Design degree. This diverse array of programs ensures that we cater to various interests and career goals within the design field. Please note that only a very small number of those 40 students are enrolled as BXA Design students.
